Position Overview

As the Team Lead for Business Applications, you will oversee the global IT applications team and be responsible for all facets of the company’s business applications. This includes planning, organizing, managing, developing, budgeting, and supporting the global IT application systems and associated policies, standards, and documentation to ensure the stable operation. You will coordinate, facilitate, collaborate, and consult with various departments and colleagues around the world on information systems and related technology initiatives. Regionally, you will also act as an IT escalation coordinator and this position reports to the Global VP, IT.

Job requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the business applications team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to ensure a high level of competency and motivation within the department.

  • Develop and manage the budget for business applications, including software purchases, subscription services.

  • Oversee the selection, standardization, implementation, and maintenance of global and regional business application software to ensure alignment with organizational goals and operational efficiency.

  • Continuously assess operational risks and develop contingency plans.

  • Establish and enforce data integrity and security protocols to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Facilitate global and regional user training sessions and create documentation for business applications for end-users.

  • Liaise with global and regional department heads and key stakeholders to identify business process improvement opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years’ experience in managing software applications within a global retail organization.

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning with a track record of leading teams in the deployment and maintenance of business-critical applications.

  • Hands-on experience in IT project management, application development and system integration.   PMP or other project management certification preferred.

  • Experience with an ERP system (Sales, Warehouse, Distribution, Production, Finance, Business Intelligence) required.  proALPHA and QlikSense knowledge is strongly encouraged.

  •  Must have experience with collaboration tools (ex. Office 365).

  •  Strong communication and leadership skills.

  •  Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  •  Ability to travel (10%)
