Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial statements and will own parts of the month-end closing process, review the work of the accounts receivable and accounts payable staff and identify ways to streamline accounting systems. This role will include GL reconciliations/postings, enhancing and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and will be involved in sales tax management. In addition, this role will be a part of the audit process.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain accurate financial statements by reconciling accounts and posting journal entries.

  • Responsible for some pieces of the month-end closing.

  • Review AR and AP functions as needed.

  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and procedures.

  • Support audits as needed

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to company accounting policies.

  • Integral part of sales tax filings in Avalara.

  • Fixed Asset Review

  • Manage Reconciliation on high transactional Accounts Receivable (Amazon/B2C and B2B).

  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Accounting degree required

  • 5+ years of overall accounting experience with a consumer goods Company; Audit or CPA preferred; must understand inventory accounting)

  • A/R and A/P exp: 1 year

  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with reconciliations and large data sets.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting

  • Ability to work independently, have a thirst for learning, proven ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines

  • Analytical problem solver who constantly strives to improves processes and procedures.

  • Experience/exposure in manufacturing/CPG industry a plus.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
